유사동사들은 철저하게 점검해야

♣혼동하기 쉬운 동사들을 철저히 정리하라

어법보다는 어휘 분야에 가깝기는 하지만,혼동하기 쉬운 동사들의 경우는 철저한 점검 및 숙지가 필요하다.

고교 수준에서는 특히 스펠링이 비슷한 유사 동사들에 신경을 써서 알아둘 필요가 있다.

다음의 동사들은 기본형은 물론 과거, 과거분사, 자동사, 타동사 여부까지 완벽하게 알고 있어야 한다.

①lie vi. 거짓말하다(lied－lied)

lie vi. 놓여 있다: 눕다, ∼인 채로 있다(lay－lain)

lay vt. 두다, 누이다 (laid－laid)

②rise vi. 뜨다, 일어서다(rose－risen)

raise vt. 들다, 올리다(raised－raised)

③fall vi. 쓰러지다 (fell－fallen)

fell vt. 쓰러뜨리다 (felled－felled)

④find vt. 발견하다 (found－found)

found vt. 설립하다 (founded－founded)

⑤wind vt. 감다 (wound－wound)

wound vt. 부상을 입히다 (wounded－wounded)

⑥hang vi/vt. 매달리다: 걸다 (hung－hung)

hang vt. 교수형에 처하다 (hanged－hanged)

⑦see vi/vt. 보이다: 보다 (saw－seen)

saw vt. 톱질하다 (sawed－sawed)

⑧die vi. 죽다 (died－died)

dye vi/vt. 물들다: 물들이다 (dyed－dyed)
