<편집자 주> 미국 웨스트민스터스쿨에 재학 중인 양현웅 학생이 생글생글에 보내 온 유학생 일기입니다. Hyunwoong YANG(Westminster School, Simsbury, CT) Westminster School is a private, coeducational, boarding and day school in Simsbury, Connecticut that accepts around 20% of applicants. The entire student population is around 400 (75% boarding, 25% day), with students from 25 different states and 30 different countries. It is also a member of the Founders League, a sports league made up of ten college-preparation boarding schools in Connecticut and one in New York.William Lee Cushing, a Yale University alumnus, founded Westminster School as an all-boys school in 1888. Girls were admitted to the school for the first time in 1971. Westminster, like many boarding schools, struggled in the 1970s to compete for a diminishing pool of boarding students.Graham Cole took over as headmaster when Donald Werner resigned in 1993 after 21 years as headmaster. During the Cole years, the school's enrollment increased from 340 to 385 pupils, with 88 members of the teaching staff.Today, Westminster is a community where people know, understand, and care about one another. It offers a vast and diversified program in an intimate, small-school atmosphere. 미국 유학생의 흔한 일상

안녕하세요. 한국경제신문 공모전·대외활동 사이트 올콘 유학생 기자단 안진영(미국 뉴햄프셔대)입니다. 오늘은 저의 최근 일상을 전해 드리려고 해요.대학 도서관저희 학교 도서관입니다. 지난 여름방학에 찍은 것이에요. 여름방학에는 학교에 오는 학생들이 많지 않아 저 넓은 공간에서 저 혼자 공부할 때도 많았어요. 학기 중에는 항상 학생들로 가득하답니다.저도 평일 대부분의 시간을 도서관에서 보내요. 저는 이번 학기에 Communication, Economics, Psychology, Chinese 네 과목(16학점)을 듣고 있는데요. 네 과목은 적지도 많지도 않고 딱 적당한 것 같아요. 전공은 아니지만 요즘 중국어에 큰 흥미를 느끼고 있습니다. 종강 후엔 중국어를 더 배워 볼까 생각 중입니다. Boston,  Massachusetts학교에서 보스턴까지 기차나 자동차로 쉽게 갈 수 있습니다. 지난 여름에 한 번 간 것이 전부지만 그때 기억이 너무 좋아서 나중에 또 가고 싶어요. Portland, Maine여기는 메인주에 있는 포틀랜드라는 곳입니다. 학교에서 기차로 한 시간 반 정도 걸려요. 유명한 랍스터 식당에 한 시간이나 기다려서 갔다왔는데 맛은 그저 그랬어요. 가격은 ‘market price’라고 적혀 있었는데 나중에 보니 30달러 정도였어요. 친구들과 여기저기 돌아다니면서 구경도 하고 사진도 많이 찍고 좋은 시간을
